Ben is an emerging voice in Canadian public policy, known for his exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas and policy with clarity and impact, and to combine deep constitutional expertise with practical policy insight. His work bridges academia, public service, and strategic advising, with a special focus on governance, institutional design, and Canada’s place in the world.

Ben has served in multiple roles within the federal civil service, including work on the first NAFTA renegotiations, and has provided senior-level advice in high-stakes political environments, shaping messaging and translating complex policy into clear, actionable narratives. Ben will also be the Director of the newly launched MBP Intelligence, Meredith Boessenkool & Phillips’ premium policy intelligence retainer that will deliver forward looking insights and analysis to Canada’s decision-makers.

Outside of work, Ben is an aspiring wine connoisseur, a football (soccer) fanatic, and passionate urbanist.
